WWF integrated campaign-
bioacoustic rhapsody,
hear the forest’s symphony
Forests aren’t just visual—they’re alive with sound. From birdsong to leaf motion sound, every layer creates a rich natural symphony. But as deforestation and climate change accelerate, these soundscapes are falling silent.
The goal of this campaign was to make people hear what’s disappearing. By focusing on bioacoustic loss, we reached a new audience—music and sound lovers—connecting them emotionally to nature through what they value most: sound.
We collaborated with five global artists to create tracks using real forest sounds, turning nature’s fading voice into music with purpose. Through storytelling, sound and emotion, this campaign brought the forest’s voice to the forefront—before it’s gone.

Because when the forest goes quiet, the world loses more than trees—it loses a masterpiece.

It’s the sound of nature, like a rhapsody of sounds, all coming together

We aim to identify endangered elements of forests — especially their natural sounds.
By celebrating these sounds, we seek to raise awareness among music and sound lovers, showing that nature’s beauty can inspire and move us just like art does.
By linking these two worlds, we can engage a new audience for WWF: people who hold sound close to their hearts and are willing to support a good cause.
TARGET AUDIENCE: 25-45 years old; Socially/environmentally conscious; Arts and music lovers

1st measuring forests by sounds, decibels.
We are interested in what lays behind these sounds of the forests that suffer from bioacoustic biodiversity loss. And how we can make this come to life: make it sound as if it would be like music to have a storytelling aspect.

n3 FILM SYNOPSYS – “BIOACOUSTIC RHAPSODY”
Format: Hero Film / Online & Cinema
Runtime: ~60–90 seconds

Film Synopsis –
“Bioacoustic Rhapsody”

voiceover
The film opens in a lush forest. Sunlight filters softly through the canopy. A gentle breeze stirs the leaves. A voiceover begins: “Listen.”
The forest comes alive. Birds chirp. Insects buzz. Leaves rustle. Real bioacoustic recordings bring the soundscape to life. The voice continues: “This is nature’s own symphony.”
We begin to hear a sequence of sound and music — songs collaborations and tracks from artists like Björk, Aurora, Aphex Twin, and others. Their music blends seamlessly with the sounds of the wild. They are writing music, recording, performing. The boundary between human composition and nature’s rhythm dissolves. “Just like we create music, so does the Earth.”
Suddenly, the harmony breaks. Footage of deforestation cuts through the calm. Trees fall. Chainsaws roar. The soundscape fades. The voice returns: “Deforestation silences the forests. When habitats disappear, so do the voices of those who live there.”
We see artists performing in vulnerable environments, the Amazon. Their music, infused with bioacoustic elements, becomes a tribute to what we're in danger of losing.Final words from the voiceover: “If we don’t act now, this rhapsody may be only a memory.”
“Support WWF.” The screen fades to black. The WWF logo appears.“Hear the forest’s symphony.”
